Delta Elevates the LAX Experience with New Delta One Lounge Expansion

Delta Air Lines is doubling down on its premium footprint at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with the official opening of Phase 1 of its second Delta One Lounge.

Located on the Mezzanine level of Terminal 2, this intimate new space marks the latest milestone in Delta’s aggressive expansion strategy, solidifying its position as the U.S. airline with the most expansive global lounge network.

“This investment remains congruent with our strategy of elevating the premium experience both at LAX and across our global network,” said Megan Humphreys, Vice President of Delta Sky Club and Lounge Experience. “We’re thoughtfully looking at every square foot we have—designing every detail with intention.”

Unlike the sprawling Delta One Lounge in Terminal 3, the new Terminal 2 space is designed as an intimate, tranquil oasis with a heavy emphasis on high-end dining.

Expansive airfield-view windows flood the room with natural light, complemented by curated artwork from seven local Los Angeles creators.

It features three luxury showers, four cabana-style bathrooms, a premium bar, wireless charging, and portable monitors for travellers needing to stay productive.

Premium passengers can utilise the private Delta One check-in and security at Terminal 3, then opt for a private golf cart transfer directly to the new T2 Lounge.

Under the direction of Culinary Director Michael Rouleau, the lounge offers an elevated, full table-service dining experience that highlights fresh, locally sourced California ingredients.

This expansion is a core component of Delta’s long-term strategy as LAX’s leading global carrier. Delta currently operates 151 peak-day departures from LAX to 50 destinations.

The airline is aggressively expanding its network with new nonstop service to major hubs such as Hong Kong and Chicago O’Hare, as well as upcoming routes to Vancouver and Newark (launching in April 2027).

These premium infrastructure investments ensure that Delta will offer an unmatched ground and air experience well ahead of the highly anticipated LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
