Sabre boss, Olowo, FAAN MD, Dunoma win Tourism Transport Summit awards
For their outstanding achievements in the aviation and travel industry, the duo of President, Sabre Network Incorporated, Dr. Gabriel Olowo and the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Saleh Dunoma have been honoured.
Olowo and Dunoma won Aviation Technology Achievement Award and Outstanding Leadership in Airport Management and Operational Efficiency for the Year 2018 respectively at the Transportation and Tourism Industries Combined Summit and Expo at the Tourism Transport Summit and Expo 2019, held last week Wednesday in Abuja.
The driving force to this monumental change at most of the nation’s airport is no other than Dunoma, who is equally the current President, Airports Council International (ACI) – Africa.
The organisers said under his leadership, two Nigeria’s busiest and strategic airports-the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja were certified in line with recommended standards of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
By this remarkable feat, this unassuming quiet and silent achiever had not only succeeded in recording a ground breaking feat, but also making an indelible foot print on the aviation global business.
By these achievements, Nigeria ranks as the only country in Africa to have its two major airports certified in accordance with ICAO safety standards.
For Olowo, he has built Sabre into a reputable air travel solution not only in Nigeria but in West Africa, rivalling others that came long before it.
And as a market maker, they harness market dynamics to work to customer’s advantage every day.
They were once a processor, an advisor and an innovator. Sabre are the essential connection in travel: buyers, sellers and travelers. They tame complexity with speed and scale, so travel innovators like can hone their competitive advantage.
