Leadway unveils short-term ‘Arrival Pack’ to target Nigeria’s peak seasonal travel

Leadway Assurance, a premier Nigerian insurer and member of Leadway Group, has officially launched the Leadway Arrival Pack—a flexible, short-term insurance product engineered specifically for the surge in travel, celebrations, and commerce during Nigeria’s peak visitor seasons.

Unveiled at an industry gathering in Lagos featuring key figures from aviation, tourism, travel, financial services, and media, the solution addresses a longstanding market gap: standard annual insurance policies that leave temporary visitors, returning diaspora, business travellers, and students under-protected.

Key features and market highlights are tailored for diaspora homecomings, international tourists, corporate travellers, returning students, and the local businesses hosting them, providing short-term protection against unexpected disruptions and risks during temporary stays, bridging the gap left by traditional long-term coverage options and introduced ahead of the busy 2026 year-end festive period, with December serving as its primary activation period alongside secondary travel peaks like Easter and Eid.

It is available for immediate purchase via Leadway’s official website to allow advance planning.

Highlighting the economic driver behind the product, Kikelomo Fischer, Executive Director, Retail & Partnership at Leadway Assurance, pointed to surging cross-border movement into the country.

“International passenger movements into Nigeria increased from 4.33 million in 2024 to 4.85 million in 2025, representing about 12 per cent growth. As travel and commercial activity increase, so does exposure to unexpected risks,” Fischer stated.

“Our primary objective in launching the Arrival Pack is to ensure that coming into Nigeria for a temporary visit or stay is defined by greater peace of mind, both for visitors and the businesses that serve them.”

The rollout underscores Leadway’s strategy to adapt its retail portfolio to real-time shifts in mobility, commerce, and consumer habits across Nigeria’s evolving aviation and tourism landscapes.

A past mistake I made was underestimating the logistical complexity of securing coverage for spontaneous trips. The local infrastructure sometimes makes accessing specialized plans difficult for temporary residents.
