Keyamo, Babalakin, Onyema to lead discussions at 30th LAAC aviation summit 

This year’s conference will gather top government officials, regulators, airline operators, airport executives, and key industry stakeholders under the theme: “Towards a Sustainable Aviation Industry: Balancing Government Revenue Demands with Sector Growth.”

The Chairman of the LAAC Conference Committee, Mr Wole Shadare, emphasised that the industry has reached a crucial juncture where state revenue targets must align with policies that foster investment and long-term competitiveness.

“The aviation industry remains a strategic driver of economic development, trade, tourism, and national integration,” Shadare stated.

“However, increasing fiscal pressures and multiple charges continue to generate serious conversations about the need to strike a balance between government revenue generation and actual sector growth.”

Shadare explained that the 30th edition will provide a credible platform to forge practical policy recommendations for the sector.

“We have assembled some of the most respected voices in the industry to examine these pressing issues. We expect meaningful conversations that will ultimately contribute to policy reforms capable of strengthening Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem,” he added.

The high-powered event will feature key decision-makers across the Nigerian aviation landscape, including Special Guest of Honour, Mr Festus Keyamo, SAN (Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development), conference chairman, Dr Wale Babalakin, SAN (Chairman, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited) and keynote speaker, Mr Allen Onyema (Chairman, Air Peace Limited).

In addition to executive panel sessions, the event will host the official unveiling of the latest LAAC Magazine alongside the second edition of the Champions of Aviation publication—a special edition documenting the landmark achievements of agencies, operators, and industry leaders.

Commenting on the milestone anniversary, LAAC Chairman, Mr Sulaiman Idris Alooma, noted that three decades of continuous discourse reflect the association’s deep commitment to constructive stakeholder engagement.

“Our annual conference has earned the confidence of industry stakeholders because it consistently addresses contemporary issues,” Alooma said. “As we mark the 30th edition, we remain committed to fostering dialogue that supports sustainable growth, enhances operational efficiency, and makes Nigeria’s aviation sector globally competitive.”

The conference is expected to draw wide participation across the aviation value chain, with deliberations targeting critical areas such as sustainable financing, regulatory framework reform, infrastructure development, and protective investment strategies.
