Dubai braces for high-season travel surge
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is gearing up for a significant increase in passenger traffic as the summer travel season approaches its peak.
The airport is set to welcome over 3.7 million travellers between June 12 and June 25, with daily traffic averaging 264,000 passengers.
The busiest day is anticipated to be June 22, with over 287,000 travellers expected.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, DXB aims to expedite passenger formalities, allowing travellers ample time to use the airport’s amenities.
Dubai Airports advised Emirates passengers to use home, early, and self-check-in facilities, including city check-in options, to avoid long queues at the airport.
Meanwhile, flydubai passengers were advised to arrive at least four hours before departure, while passengers of other airlines are advised to arrive no earlier than three hours before departure and use online check-in where possible to save time.
Moreover, Dubai emphasised the importance of reviewing airline baggage allowances and packing regulations to avoid last-minute delays.
It also called on passengers to review the latest travel regulations for their destination, ensure all necessary documents are ready, and pack spare batteries and power banks in their hand luggage.
For security screening, passengers should place metal items such as watches, jewellery, mobile phones, coins, and belts in their hand luggage and follow guidelines for liquids, aerosols, and gels.
To expedite the passport control process, the airport encouraged families with children over 12 to use Smart Gates.

To avoid road congestion, Dubai advised travellers to use the Dubai Metro for transportation to and from the airport and between Terminals 1 and 3, highlighting that access to the arrival forecourts at Terminals 1 and 3 is restricted to public transport and authorized airport vehicles only.
