U.S. airlines canceled flights to Brussels after bombings at that international airport halted flights, and prompted tighter security across Europe and in New York City. Despite the economic downturn, Nigeria has continued to rank as country with the highest number of business aviation in Africa followed by South Africa. Growth has been driven predominantly by the oil and gas industry, even though Nigeria’s private jet fleet is larger than the commercial aircraft fleet.
