Preparations for the second induction into the Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) reached a major milestone on Monday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between NAHF and Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2). The landmark ceremony took place at the BASL headquarters in Lagos.
BASL was represented by Head of Marketing and Creative Services, Gbubemi Vera Aibangbe, while NAHF Co-Founders Wole Shadare and Gboyega Adeoye represented the Hall of Fame.
The agreement seals a strategic partnership for the joint hosting and management of the NAHF Montage—a permanent wall of honour at MMA2 featuring pictures, profiles, and citations of distinguished aviators who have shaped Nigeria’s aviation sector.
With installation already underway, both organisations described the collaboration as a win-win initiative aimed at preserving heritage and inspiring future professionals.
Under the MoU, BASL will provide space, security, and ongoing maintenance for the Montage at MMA2. NAHF will oversee content curation, periodic updates, and the selection process for inductees.
The Montage will be officially unveiled on Friday, September 4, 2026, at MMA2 by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN).
The unveiling will be followed immediately by the main induction ceremony and the official launch of NAHF’s maiden publication, Aviation Achievers, at the Golfview Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 10:00 am.
A total of 18 remarkable aviators will be inducted during this edition, selected for their decades of service, integrity, leadership, and lasting contributions to the growth of Nigerian aviation.
Key leaders from both organisations highlighted the cultural and educational importance of the initiative following the execution of the MoU.
Wole Shadare (Co-Founder, NAHF) said, “For over 25 years, I have reported on this sector and seen many heroes retire without recognition. The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame is our way of saying thank you while we are still here to clap for them.”
Gboyega Adeoye (Co-Founder, NAHF), “This is about history, values, and inspiring young Nigerians coming into aviation. We are proud that Bi-Courtney shares this vision with us.”

The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame operates as a non-political, non-profit initiative dedicated to recognising excellence, documenting aviation history, and promoting mentorship across the sector.
