Airbus delivers 437 aircraft in 2022 despite supply chain snarls
To hit its recently revisited target of 700 aircraft deliveries in 2022, Airbus will need to deliver 265 jets by the end of the year.
The European multinational aircraft manufacturer, Airbus reported an upsurge in aircraft deliveries last month, with over 55 aircraft delivered in September, bringing the tally up to 437 aircraft delivered in 2022, despite crippling supply chain disruptions.
After adjusting the canceled deliveries of two A350 aircraft built for the Russian flag carrier, Aeroflot in compliance with enforced western sanctions against Russia, the manufacturer’s deliveries for 2022 will drop to 435 aircraft in total.
To hit its recently revisited target of 700 aircraft deliveries in 2022, the company will need to deliver 265 jets by the end of the year, and while analysts dubbed the remaining deliveries manageable, concerns over mounting supply chain snags have been on the rise.
Global supply chain snarls have significantly impacted the manufacturer’s deliveries in July, with shortages of essential engine parts leaving multiple aircraft parked unfinished outside the company’s headquarters in Toulouse.
To date, Airbus sold 856 aircraft in 2022, or 647 after cancellations, with 13 aircraft orders registered in September.
