2027 Campaign: Tinubu appoints Keyamo to lead APC Air Mobilisation, Kuku, Farouk as dep. directors
In a strategic move to strengthen logistics and ensure seamless nationwide reach ahead of the 2027 general elections, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to head the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s Directorate of Air Mobilisation.

Keyamo will lead the newly established strategic operational unit, anchored by top leaders in the aviation sector. The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, has been appointed as Deputy Director I, while the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, will serve as Deputy Director II.
The establishment of the directorate underscores the critical role of air transportation and aviation logistics in executing a nationwide presidential campaign across Nigeria’s expansive geographical footprint.
The Special Adviser to Keyamo on Media, Tunde Moshood, said the Directorate of Air Mobilisation is tasked with managing complex air-movement logistics, facilitating travel for designated campaign officials, and ensuring efficient air transport support across all six geopolitical zones.
Keyamo’s selection leverages his administrative leadership and industry familiarity at the helm of Nigeria’s aviation ministry.

His leadership is expected to streamline flight operations, ensuring efficiency during intensive campaign schedules that require quick turnarounds and multi-city stops.
Furthermore, including Kuku and Umar brings frontline operational expertise and technical depth to the campaign’s planning apparatus.
Given the stringent demands of nationwide electioneering, the directorate will work in tandem with other APC campaign structures, aviation stakeholders, and service providers.
Crucially, the directorate’s framework emphasises strict adherence to safety standards, aviation regulations, and electoral laws.
Operational guidelines will maintain a clear legal and procedural boundary between campaign activities and official government operations, ensuring that all campaign travel is conducted strictly through authorised private and commercial channels.

The appointment is part of President Tinubu’s broader strategy to build a robust APC Presidential Campaign Council equipped to handle the intensive demands of the upcoming 2027 presidential race.
