Qatar becomes first carrier to enable B787-8 with Starlink
Qatar Airways has launched the world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 787 and completed Airbus A350 Starlink rollout, connecting over 11 million passengers with the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky.
The carrier has now officially become the first airline in the world to equip and certify the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with Starlink.

The airline set an unprecedented pace for fleet upgrades, completing massive installations in record time.
Three Dreamliners are already operational with Starlink, and the carrier is the first to secure certification for this specific Boeing model.
The entire A350 fleet was retrofitted in just eight months, finishing in December 2025.
Within just 14 months, the airline completed the Starlink rollout for its entire Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 fleets before moving on to the 787s.
Currently, nearly 120 wide-body aircraft, representing over 58% of their long-haul fleet. are equipped with the service.

This aggressive rollout effectively positions Qatar Airways as the global leader in long-haul connectivity, leaving many competitors still in the trial or limited-rollout phases for high-bandwidth satellite internet.
