Pilots’ seminar holds Oct 4 in Lagos
The pilots seminar’s second edition will be held on October 4 in Lagos at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority annexe (NCAA).
This is the second in the series. The first one was organized by the Mentorship Academy of Mamaj Aviation Consult Limited in collaboration with the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, (NCAT) 2019 in Lagos.
Convener of the seminar, Joy Ogbebo said, “We are privileged to have Capt. Jim Hassan of the Nigerian college of information technology Zaria, Capt. Arome Soni formerly of the Nigeria CAA, Capt. Ejike Wosu of the Nigerian CAA, Capt. Quincy Owen and Ajibade Joshua of Air Peace.
The increasing demand for information relating to the Pilot profession, she said has necessitated the need to have this second seminar.
According to Ogbebo, “Since I am not a professional pilot, bringing together seasoned experts is the best way to address the many concerns of the aspiring young pilots.” The need for access to information before making career decisions cannot be over-emphasized.
The theme for this year’s seminar is “Becoming a Professional Pilot: Benefits and Challenges
At this year’s seminar, Capt. Chris Najomo will be the keynote speaker. Invited special guest speakers are, Dr. Alex Nwuba, President of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria, Capt. Ado Sanusi, MD/CEO of Aero Contractors, Capt.Abdullahi Zubeir, Director of Airport Operations, Capt. Roy Ilegbodu, MD/CEO Ark Airlines, Capt..Benson Ikponmwonsa and Anthony Ayeni of Ibom Air.
She further stated that this will be a very interactive session as they shall be having pilots from different airlines for the panellist session, discussing becoming a professional pilot, skills required, what it takes to become one, best schools to attend, funding, training costs, processes involved amongst others.
The crop of seasoned pilot professionals at this year’s seminar will be having enriching conversations that will help the participants have an in-depth perspective of the Pilot career path.
