Nnaji bags award, says aviation remains pivot of economy

Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, Nnolim Nnaji, has been honoured as Nigeria’s Aviation Ambassador.

The honour was in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of the industry in the past four years of superintending its legislative oversight.

The award came from the authors of the “Unsung Aviation Heroes”, Messrs Wole Shadare, and Gboyega Adeoye both veteran aviation and tourism journalists.

The book which also contains some inserts of major activities and pronouncements of Nnaji as the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Aviation chronicles the early beginning and stages of developments in the Nigerian air transport sector.

The authors praised Nnaji for his tremendous passion and interest in supporting the growth of the sector stressing that Stakeholders in the industry would love to see him retain the committee in the 10th Assembly.

He thanked them for the recognition adding that the aviation sector remained the pivot of the economy of any nation and therefore should be given the needed impetus to drive the economy.

“The image of our country is seen by foreigners from what they experience on arrival at our airports and that is why it is important that we get our gateways right”. Nnaji stressed.

He urged the authors and indeed the entire aviation journalists to continue to play their role as the watchdogs of the industry by properly reporting the industry and putting all actors in check through their scripts.
