Air freight demand: Africa posts largest year-on-year increase

Africa posted the largest year-on-year increase in demand of all regions in October; with freight volumes rising 30.3 per cent, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 5.9 per cent in October 2017 compared to the year-earlier period. IATA stated that capacity increased 9.2 per cent, adding that during the same period international freight volumes grew by 28.5 per cent….

DHL Express has become the first operator to take delivery of the A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) converted aircraft from Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), the joint venture between ST Aerospace and Airbus. Air Peace has pledged a seamless and exciting air travel experience on the Abuja-Uyo-Abuja route from December 7. A statement signed by the carrier’s Corporate Communications Manager, Mr. Chris Iwarah confirmed that the airline will now fly daily from Abuja to Uyo and Uyo to Abuja.
