LAAC holds annual summit on aviation industry woes, way out

The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) has announced its 28th Annual Conference will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Providence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event, themed “AVIATION SURVIVABILITY AMIDST A CHALLENGING MACRO-ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT,” aims to chart a way forward for the aviation industry in the face of economic challenges.
The conference, originally scheduled for July 25, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel Ikeja, has been rescheduled to July 26, 2024.

The theme was inspired by the current economic state of the country, which has exacerbated existing constraints to growth and development in the aviation industry.
These challenges include poor access to forex, a weakening currency, high fuel costs, maintenance costs, poor airport infrastructure, regulatory constraints, growing manpower demands, technology upgrades, and passenger comfort issues.
The conference is expected to attract over 200 aviation industry professionals, including representatives from aviation agencies, security agencies, international and domestic airlines, aviation support services, travel service providers, and tour operators.
The event presents an opportunity for organizations to showcase their activities and products.
As the umbrella body for aviation media in Nigeria, LAAC is committed to ensuring effective media coverage and practice in the industry. The annual seminar has made a significant impact on the aviation sector, throwing up policy, management, and operational issues for public discussion.
Aviation and allied business organizations have taken advantage of sponsorship opportunities to sell their products and services.
This year’s conference presents another opportunity for organizations to do so.
The LAAC Conference Planning Committee says, “This year’s conference is unique because it will focus on the industry’s survival and sustenance, which is a major subject of discussion in these challenging times”.
The conference will feature both physical and virtual participation, enabling stakeholders from around the world to participate.
